Recognise that giant, light-up alphabet? Vowed and Amazed have been taking wedding props to the next level for some time now!

We chatted to the team behind the bulbs at Vowed and Amazed, Caroline and Stuart to score an insight for you, our Brides-2-Be, into her and her husband’s vibrant business!

2017 kicked off with a bang as we launched the Book Of Love - our exclusive directory for the UK's most AWESOME wedding suppliers. The guys at V&A capture the essence of what it's all about.

Specialising in building and hiring giant theatrical props for absolutely any occasion, V&A can light up your wedding, civil ceremony, party, gig, stage, TV - any event you can possibly imagine!

The creative couple design and build their spectacular pieces in unique workshops just outside of our well-loved city of London.

Magical and inspirational, you can’t help but be wowed and amazed by a Vowed and Amazed statement prop!

Vowed and Amazed is such a unique business idea, what’s the story behind the venture?

My partner (now husband, Stuart) and I already worked in the events industry. We ran unusual club nights in East London - our nights were big parties with dressing up and themed sets to dance around in - we love a themed dress up!

We were happy in the club scene, living in London and engaged when quite unexpectedly, my Dad passed away. The thought of planning our wedding without Dad there became very painful for me and the way I tackled that was by thinking of my wedding as a business venture.

We got completely immersed in showcasing our design and fabrication skills, we built giant letters because we loved ELVIS and made them white because... well it was a wedding! Who knew what we’d unleashed with that prop!

We made giant teacup props and designed and commissioned a beautiful bouncy castle! We worked tirelessly; I even put together my own cake and wedding dress (I DO NOT ADVISE!)!

Throwing ourselves into it was really therapeutic. When it came to the big day we were so proud of what we had achieved and everyone was raving about how it all looked. People kept saying “You should hire this stuff out” and so we did!

I thought it would be nice if we had a little side business, maybe hiring out an item a month! 6 years on we are full time and have supplied to over 3000 weddings and events.

Ambition drives a company - what is your motivation and where is your creative spirit leading V&A?

We just want to collect and build more and more fabulous things for people to hire - we must have been magpies in another life!

We have started a sister company to Vowed & Amazed called The Curious Collection, which is a space for our more weird and wonderful ideas to come to life.

There is also another venture in the pipeline but shhhhhh! it’s a secret for now...Watch this space!

What's the most unforgettable moment that you’ve experienced with Vowed and Amazed?

Oh so many!

We have been lucky enough to work with so many amazing couples and events from The BBC to Dawn Porter and Chris O’Dowd.

Supplying our pieces for Kate Halfpenny’s stupendous wedding was a real highlight.... Seeing our giant letters on the cover of NME made the teenage me cry... and working with Kylie Minogue not once but twice made Stuart very happy!

And finally, let us in on your suppliers secrets...what are your TOP TIPS for British Brides-to-Be ?

1. Talk to your suppliers!

I get a lot of Brides saying “Sorry I’m asking so many questions!” Never apologise for that, the more you tell us or ask the better-prepared everyone is.

2. Never put down you or your partner as the ‘contact on the day’. You will be too busy and shouldn’t bother with such things. Take it from someone who was lugging around drums of water in a muddy field at 5am on her big day.

3. Stay cool.

Even if things don’t go to “plan” on the day, it won’t matter when you are ''in'' the moment. Just feel the love from your family and friends.

4. Don’t worry about nerves, they turn to excitement at the last minute!

5. Book as far in advance as you can on everything! Make sure you don’t miss out on the venues, props and photographers that you really want.

Giant thank-yous to our first featured suppliers, Caroline & Stuart of Vowed and Amazed.
