Looking to make your wedding day a Kickass Gathering? Say no more. I'm Louise Gather, a Humanist wedding celebrant guaranteed to set the tone for your wedding day with a heartfelt and hilarious ceremony written just for you. I’m based in tropical Derbyshire, but I’m pretty portable and up for gallivanting all over the place in the name of love.
With a celebrant, your ceremony can be wherever and whenever you like and there are no rules and no restrictions. I’ve conducted wedding ceremonies in castles, fields, tipis, country houses, warehouses and woodlands. And I’ve worked with all kinds of couples: the only requirement is being up for making your ceremony a joyous mix of love and laughs. It helps if you’re cool, too – but you wouldn’t be browsing the Un-Wedding if you weren’t.

Most people know me on social media as ‘the mushroom-obsessed one with the trouser suits, tattoos and orange hair', but there's a lot more to me than that. I pride myself on my ceremony creativity and ability to make every couple and guest say ‘that’s the best wedding I’ve ever seen.’ 2024 will be my fourth wedding season and I will have worked with more than 100 couples, so I’ve got plenty of experience and ideas to draw on and can give you as much ceremony advice and guidance as you need. I encourage all couples to write their own vows to read directly to each other in the ceremony, but don’t worry! As a former English teacher, I’ve created some fabulous resources to help you write something wonderful, and I am on hand to give you help and feedback throughout. I also bring them along on the day, printed and designed to match your wedding colours and flowers (partly to give you one less thing to have to remember on the day… but mostly because I’m mega organised).

Weddings can come with a lot of expectations, but I will never assume that you want to walk down the aisle, exchange rings, or change your name just because it’s ‘the done thing’. Planning your ceremony is a collaborative process, which means we’ll create something truly authentic to you and your love. Inclusivity - whether that’s in terms of gender, sexuality, or accessibility - is at the heart of everything, and your ceremony will be written with this in mind. I’ll ask what language you’d like to use, too: we don’t have to use terms like ‘bride’, ‘wife’, ‘groom’ or ‘husband’ if they give you the ick, and I’ll never greet your guests with ‘ladies and gentlemen’ because it’s not 1952.
People personalise so many aspects of their wedding days, from signature cocktails to table décor. Don’t settle for a standard ceremony. It’s what the wedding is all about, and it just makes sense to make it awesome.
