Love Stories: A Romantic Bridal Collection By Poppy Dover, brings a whole new meaning to the term 'wear your heart on your sleeve'.
This enchanting collection of bridal wear is based on the iconographies of love... hearts, arrows, curling roses, butterflies, swallows and interlacing initials are delicately embroidered onto the garments, reminiscent of the traditional tattoos we see etched on bodies today.
Each piece is brought to life from a sketch, approaching love in a fun yet feminine way, with subtle white on white texture and pattern. The full collection is made up of 17 carefully designed, bridal fashion pieces that can be mix and matched to make up over 50 unique combinations.
Tops and trains can be personalised with romantic embroideries of your choice, before being layered over your elegant gown, allowing a subtle transition from ceremony to reception and even a chance to wear again, long after the wedding day. This versatility is something I believe modern brides are attracted to more and more these days.
Poppy's ability to bridge the gap between bridal and fashion comes from her previous design career within the forward thinking world of high end luxury. By staying focused on originality and newness, Poppy has been able to strike a perfect balance of contemporary bridal that is a true representation of the individual beneath the dress.
“What it means for a woman to become a bride is better explained as a symbolic and spiritual experience than that of tradition and unity by law. It’s that moment that you notice in the bride this magic glow and calm around her that creates an untangeable beauty, only visible to those there to witness it. It can be utterly spellbinding and not something easily captured in a photograph. She appears strong but delicate and has a stillness in her that acknowledges only the now, that day, devotion to celebrating her love, friendships, magic, hopes and dreams. She embodies the spirit of herself and becomes The Ethereal Bride.”
