How To Get The Most Out Of Visiting A Wedding Fair

It’s all happening!

Summer is here, bringing with it lots of wonderful in-person events. Best of all we can get out to wedding fairs in person, meaning that here at the Un-Wedding we can share with you our fantastic suppliers and wedding-people who’ll make all the magic of your day happen (tickets available now).

So how do you get the most out of visiting a wedding fair? As fair-going and fair-hosting experts, we’ve got some tips up our sleeves to share with you.

Choose the right wedding fair

There are a lot of wedding fairs out there, but they won’t all be suited to you. Everything all white and sparkly might not really be the style you’re after!

Wedding fairs come in many shapes and sizes, so taking some time to research and find the fairs that you’re most excited about will make spending the time at them that much more worthwhile. If you’re loving our non-traditional approach, many fabulous suppliers will be at our August fair, where we’re passionate about putting the 'party' into wedding planning!

Top tip: Buy tickets in advance! They’re generally much cheaper, plus once booked you’re guaranteed a spot.

Go in with a game plan

Before the day of the fair, know what you’re looking for and prioritise the stalls you need to see the most. Be sure to talk to suppliers, get to know them, their offerings, and understand if they’re the right fit for you. Don’t just take a card and wander off - get to know the lovely people right in front of you first.

We’d recommend taking pictures too so you can reference back when you get home. It can be overwhelming and difficult to remember everything, so taking photos is going to be a good visual reference to look back on. Plus, it’s a fantastic source of inspiration.

Be prepared to book

Of course, you don’t want to rush into anything, and that’s why we recommend planning in advance so you hopefully have some ideas of what you’re looking for. Wedding fairs often have special discounts and exclusive offers only on the day, not to mention they get booked up quickly, ESPECIALLY in peak season. So be prepared to book if you really like something - trust your gut instincts, make sure you feel good about it, and go ahead and book!

Make the most of the day

Take your trusted wedding-planning pals along and make the most of the day! Maybe ask your squad to seek out specific things you’re after, or ask them to take pictures of whatever they think is the most exciting. Take your time and make it fun - this is you planning a fantastic event that you get to make into whatever you want it to be.

Top tip: Follow any suppliers you’re particularly inspired by on Instagram and add them to a saved folder on the app.

We hope our tips have helped you, and if you fancy joining us, we’re hosting a magical modern wedding fair in Shoreditch on August 28th - 29th.
