Bright, Alternative, Pink Elopement Wedding Inspiration in Bordeaux, France

Are you considering a French elopement?

In France, weddings are typically elegant, classic, and have that “perfectly effortless”, champagne-drenched aura.

“Even when you want something small, think big”

Weddings in Bordeaux take advantage of the stunning châteaux venues with all the classic glamour… But what about the beautiful central city of Bordeaux? What about the wild at heart, go your own way couples? What about the Un-Wedding’ers?!

This perfectly pink styled shoot was created by Cléa on the basis that French weddings often follow the usual conventions and trends, finding that they can often fall into the “impersonal” category, with lack of expression… but she wanted to display the magic in doing whatever the hell you want for your wedding and the beautiful city of Bordeaux just happens to be the perfect backdrop for that.

First up, we go for some laid back daytime city elopement vibes… think short dress, hidden streets, beers and of course burgers… pink ones!

With all the pink details in ‘The Pink City’?

Ok, not officially as that’s Toulouse but who says you can’t paint the town pink wherever the hell you decide to get married?!

The first point of inspiration for this shoot for Cléa was literally a can of Chupa Chups “sparkling strawberry” drink! (Or should we say PINKsperation? Sorry.)

“It just sounded like something I needed... Something fresh, joyful, colourful, and seriously pops!”

The pinks, mingled with red and black, are boisterous and bold against the city’s classic backdrop, creating the perfect contrast for your modern wedding.

All the styling was based purely on the colours chosen; mainly hot pink. The flowers, materials, props, stationary, decoration… It was all worked to create this bright, alternative pink sunny city elopement in Southwestern France.

But next up, for the night owls amongst you, a sunset ceremony in front of River Garonne complete with a stunning pink ceremonial arch fashioned from pink Evian crates and florals, bespoke pink wedding gown, followed by a sparkling reception for your nearest and dearest and then a night on the town!

Real couple, Willem + Morgane, were chosen to represent REAL love, with bold, brave, and refreshing wedding styling. Their real love, comfortability, and personalities burst through in Cléa’s photographs; clearly a perfect choice!!

This stunning pink elopement shoot proves that even when planning something “small”, like an elopement or micro-wedding, you can still make it BIG with impactful styling.

“Be true to yourself, dare to add a little madness and spice to your wedding day, and don’t be afraid to use colour! Even when you want something small, think big!”
