Wedding Beauty: Introducing Hydrafacial, The Best Pre-Wedding Skin Treatment Out There!

How relaxing does this treatment look?

On Thursday 3rd August, I went along to the Hydrafacial LDN Flagship on Portman Square to experience the brand new JLO BEAUTY booster treatment.

Let me just set the scene here, cos I’m based in the Midlands, and I often get invites to various things in London but rarely anything that makes me want to leave my husband and kids and make the pilgrimage to the big smoke. However, when this invite landed in my inbox it piqued my interest because I’m quite partial to the occasional ‘tweakment’ now that I’m in my 40s… (nothing major) … and I loved the idea of treating my skin to something non-invasive for a change! Also, with Hydrafacial being tipped as the ultimate pre-wedding skin treatment, I felt it was my social duty to be able to feedback on the results to my awesome wedding community, first-hand or face-first… you decide.

New life motto anyone?

Walking into the Hydrafacial HQ was like walking into wonderland, like I just knew I was in for a treat!

The team were really friendly, especially my lovely practitioner Sam who talked me through the 3 non- invasive steps - Cleanse, Extract, Hydrate and she demoed how the machine works.

The ‘gunkie’ for the morbidly curious amongst you.

What does a Hydrafacial do?

In a nutshell, here’s what happens during the hour-long treatment:

The Cleanse

Deeply cleanses and exfoliates with a gentle peel to uncover a new layer of skin.

The Extraction

Removes impurities from pores with painless gentle suction.

The Hydration

Saturates the skin’s surface with intense moisturisers and nourishing, personalised ingredients.

It’s worth mentioning that all 3 steps of the Hydrafacial treatment felt relaxing, even the suction part during the extraction phase was surprisingly gentle and super-satisfying to see all the years of crap floating around in the aptly named ‘gunkie’.

Why Hydrafacial is the perfect pre-wedding skin treatment?

I love the fact that you can personalise your treatment to suit your skin type. I was given the option of how I wanted my skin to look post-treatment and I opted for ‘glowing’ because that’s the dream, right? So I had the JLO BEAUTY booster and let me tell you, the glow-up was real!

This combination is designed to brighten, tighten and hydrate your skin, leaving you with a juicy glow that creates the perfect base for your wedding beauty look, or any big event for that matter!

I’ve already spoken to loads of people in The Un-Wedding community who either had the treatment themselves and loved it, or from makeup artists who’ve seen the difference the treatment makes when applying makeup to people on their wedding day. And let’s face it, you want your wedding makeup to last for hours AND look perfect in your wedding photos!

I loved my post-treatment juicy skin. In fact, I felt better walking out of Hydrafacial with no makeup on after my treatment than I did when I walked in with makeup on, pre-treatment. That’s how good it was!

I was really excited to put my makeup on the next day on my new plump canvas and oh my, the results did not disappoint!

For the first time, probably since my pre-teens, my skin texture felt and looked completely smooth so my trusty Mac Face and Body foundation just glided on easily. On a bad skin day, I might apply a couple of layers but a light veil was all I needed after my Hydrafacial, and besides, ain’t no way I was covering up my glow!

I consider myself to have fairly open pores which can be annoying when you just want smooth skin. Who’s with me? Well, this treatment really helped to close my pores after all the crap had been extracted thus giving my skin a much nicer texture. This alone would probably be the main reason I would have regular Hydrafacials, the suggested time is every 4 weeks. At the very least, I would book in again before any special event to ensure my skin looks great.

It’s safe to say, I’m converted! I will definitely be having more Hydrafacials in the future and would 100% recommend this facial to anyone who is getting married and wants to give their skin a boost! Or just anyone who fancies a pamper for that matter!
