Oh WOW Glasgow! You really stole The Un-Wedding Show Scotland’s heart! We will never get over our debut wedding fair in Scotland last weekend and the warm welcome you gave us.
This was, quite possibly, THE BEST reception we’ve had from any of our events, EVER! We welcome over 1000 shiny, happy people through the doors, bringing an unbeatable vibe, suppliers and attendees alike. Thanks to all of our wonderful suppliers and attendees, so many of whom stopped to tell us how much they enjoyed the afternoon.

The Venue
We are so glad we picked The Engine Works in Glasgow as the venue for our debut Scottish event because oh my, the place is STUNNING from start to finish.
If you know anything about The Un-Wedding Show, you’ll know that our modern wedding fairs always take place in cool and unique wedding venue spaces. Well, The Engine Works is no exception - a highly coveted converted warehouse space located in Glasgow’s West End.
It’s the kind of space that takes your breath away as soon as you walk through the doors, blending tradition with modern romanticism and history with contemporary design. It’s no wonder the majority of couples who reccy the space decide to book the versatile space for their big day, ESPECIALLY when that light hits! We were lucky to be bathed in golden sunlight bursting through the windows all afternoon. It’s safe to say, that The Engine Works is every wedding photographer’s dream!

The Party!
The Un-Wedding Show is famed for putting the ‘party’ into your wedding planning and Scotland, you guys sure know how to party!
DJ Mash of Compact Disco was pumping out the tunes all afternoon from his pimped-up Defender that doubles as the ULTIMATE mobile DJ Booth… just what every Un-Wedding needs!
And no party would be complete without some sparkle, this is where our Book Of Love directory babe Streamadelica excels! You’ve probably seen Kathryn’s beautiful, sustainable streamers all over Instagram’s coolest Un-Weddings, and oh boy, did they bring The Engine Works to life! I love the simplicity that Streamadelica offers to couples (and throuples) who want impactful wedding decorations that are also sustainable if hired and installed by you. They are perfect for up-leveling almost any wedding venue.
As always, we were thrilled to see so many of our attendees who’d come along with their whole wedding party, getting into the spirit of the afternoon. The delicious cocktails and prosecco were flowing from the bar before they hit the city for some pre-wedding celebrations. Why not eh? Wedding planning is supposed to be fun, right?

The Cake
Ok, this Un-Wedding Show needs a special cake mention because both ARD Bakery and Sneaky Beets blew us away with their unique and artistic wedding cake designs. Both are very different bakers in their style and approach but artists nonetheless! I mean, Scotland, you have some seriously cool wedding cake makers up there!

Happy Diwali
This was the first time The Un-Wedding Show fell on Diwali and we were honoured to welcome Scotland Henna to our lineup of unique wedding suppliers. This is something we have never seen before at one of our events and we were thrilled to see so many of our attendees embracing Amarpreet’s art and stopping by for a demonstration, including me! And I have to tell you, this Henna smelled incredible! Amarpreet told me that she had spent some time sourcing a Henna that smells like a spa in order to enhance her customer’s experience even more.

The After Party!
Ok, maybe not an after-party as such but The Un-Wedding Show will be back in Scotland on 21st April 2024 at The Engine Works, Glasgow because, quite frankly, we would be stupid not to want to do that all over again! So, don’t worry if you didn’t make it this time, you have a second chance to join the fun and cut to the chase with your Un-Wedding plans next Spring! Tickets are on sale now HERE!
