Support Local Suppliers! Adorable Floral Wedding Shoot With Love From Margate.

We need to support our local suppliers, now more than ever! This adorable floral heavy wedding shoot features a team of independent businesses all from Margate showing you just easy it can be to create something beautiful without having to stray further than your own doorstep!

The thing that struck me most about this shoot by Book Of Love directory babe, Joanna Bongard was how happy it felt during such a miserable and uncertain time! When I say happy, I mean utterly joyous! That’s how it made me feel!

In a day and age where weddings are being cancelled and postponed left, right and centre it’s so refreshing to see such emotive inspiration from a small team Margate-based wedding suppliers who’ve all come together to show modern brides that you can still create something beautiful in a bad situation. All you need is a good photographer, an infectious smile, lots of flowers and a pretty frock!

The styling is nothing short of effortless chic, proof that you don’t need to overthink the details if you simply focus on a few key features, in this case it’s most certainly the flowers and the frocks!

The cheerful blooms are by Ultramarine, Margate based florist who support local flower growers. Ultramarine was born from a love of colour, sea, sky and nature, appreciating the outdoors and the fresh sea air. They place a strong focus on colour and seasonality so, the majority of their flowers and foliage are locally sourced from flower farmers. All their arrangements have an emphasis on wild, natural and romantic floristry which is certainly evident from this glorious bridal shoot! I love how merry and wild they look against the soft backdrop of draped linen, perfectly teamed with romantically eccentric frocks and accessories from Peony Vintage.

Georgie at Peony Vintage prides herself on hand picking the most gorgeous and unique pieces of original vintage clothing for her sustainable lifestyle boutique on King Street, Margate. Georgia specialises in re-storing, reviving and ultimately, re-loving beautiful clothing. I don’t know about you but I get strong Little Bo Peep vibes from each of these looks and it’s somehow its both wearable and adorable!

I love the simplicity of this tablescape. The paired-back styling lets the florals do the talking against the partially covered wabi sabi wall, such a striking juxtaposition.

If the era of the micro-wedding is here to stay for the foreseeable then why not embrace it and make it beautiful, keep it local, minimal? You can always marry now, party later, right? In the meantime, there’s nothing stopping you from taking the power back and doing something low-key, laid-back but beautiful nonetheless.

I hope this adorable floral wedding shoot makes you feel as happy and inspired as it did me! See the full list of Margate based suppliers below and if you are planning a small but beautiful micro-wedding using only local suppliers, I’d love to hear from you!
